Preventing disease is smart, cost effective and no/little hassle.  It is great to get cured from a disease, it is infinitesimal better to not get sick. We focus on preventing your horse to get any disease that vaccination is available.  We take time to evaluate your unique horse and its life to tailor a vaccination program that fit their needs.

 

Core vaccines - recommended by AAEP:

 

• Tetanus

• EEE /WEE - Eastern and Western Equine Encephalomyelitis

• West Nile

• Rabies - can  be given only  by a veterinarian

 

Other vaccines recommended by us:

 

• Influenza

• Rhinopneumonitis (usually together with Influenza)

• Strangles

 

Risk dependent vaccines:

 

• Anthrax

• Botulism

• Equine Viral Arteritis

• Potomac Horse Fever

• Rotaviral Diarrhea

• Snake Bites

 

Vaccines given by a veterinarian come from reputable sources and they have been properly handled from factory to your horse.  Difference in temperatures can damage the vaccines making it less/not effective. 

 

The  manufactures of vaccines stand behind them when handled and given by a veterinarian.  This becomes very important if your horse develops a local or general reaction to it.  If the vaccine is given by a non veterinarian person, the horse is insured and develop a life threatening reaction, it is possible that you claim can be denied.  It is important that your horse  be healthy at the  moment of vaccination to respond with a robust immunity.
