Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an ancient form of medicine that treats animals and people. It originated in China around 2.000 years ago. Initially used for people, the quick success caused it to be applied to the horse. In the past, the horse was an extremely important animal, because it was the main force for transporting people and goods as well as participating in war.
Acupuncture stimulates points in the body which results in desired responses for treating many ailments. Acupuncture is another modality of treatment which can help the western traditional medicine achieve the goal of having a healthy, balanced horse.
It is used classically along defined body meridians lines to address specific areas of discomfort.
Acupuncture is not a “cure all”, but have its indications in which great responses should be expected. The musculoskeletal system is one of them, among others. Approximately 90% of animals will respond well to acupuncture
We use the Chinese approach to diagnose imbalances and treat the horses. The horse can be treated with dry needles, B12 injections or eletroacupuncture.
