Some soft tissue surgery can be performed in the field. Lacerations with wound closure, castrations, tumor removal, hernia repair, Caslicks are some examples.

 

• If the horse is having an elective surgery, we recommend that blood tests be performed previously.

 

• If the horse is having an emergency wound closure and tetanus vaccination is not up to date or unknown, he/she will be vaccinated against tetanus.
